Bought 3 pairs for my friends and myself. Real bad case of blisters on both heels for two of us for many many days. The other thought it was the most comfortable pair of boots ever worn.
We experimented with different brands of heel gel stickons before they become comfortable. Maybe some design flaw or QC issues as mentioned by John. Sizes in the UK and Asia, though same UK9, are quite different so be careful.

I was issued these boots by the RFU, I am a TJ, wore them once and lost the skin from my heal and pain walking for a week or two. Gave them to a friend who had the same happen to him despite putting tape on his heal to protect him.
Seems to be a bit of a design flaw there.

As an ex ref now retired (county only) I have owned 2 pairs of Asics Gels, brilliant for protectiong your feet on hard ground would never consider any other brand.

I had contemplated for a while about buying a pair of asics rugby boots..but had considered them expensive. however having had to referee three games of tag rugby in succession last week on a hard pitch enough was enough and i decided to get a pair. however it proved very difficult to buy a pair here in Cork so I contacted Asics Uk who advised me to call into Mahers sports here in Cork City. Within a week they had sourced a pair of the above boots and I have to say absolutely outstanding comfort and I could wear them all day. It is no wonder many of the elite refs in rugby where them. I will certainly being looking to buy pair for soft ground for next seasons officiating.
