One of Britain's leading female athletes, Kelly Sotherton is a Commonwealth gold medalist and Olympic bronze medalist. After the toughest year of her career plagued with injury and illness, Kelly battled back to form to take part in the hepthalon at the Beijing Olympics. Kelly was in the battle for the gold medal which she had been tipped to take by many.

Having set 3 personal bests this wasn't quite enough and Kelly narrowly missing out on a medal and came in fourth place. This was a bitter disappointment for Kelly. Due to a serious injury Kelly decided to switch to the 400m, Kelly started the 2011 indoor season well winning the national indoor title. After a quiet outdoor season Kelly has decided (with the OK from medical experts) to switch back to the hepthalon turning her attention firmly on success at London 2012.
