"London's Music Half Marathon"
The race starts at the O2 Arena and heads through the leafy borough of Greenwich along roads especially closed for the event, making it a traffic-free race. After the 13.1 miles of the course, the route takes the runners back to the O2 Arena.
The music chosen for playing during the event was scientifically selected to match the physiological and psychological demands of the half marathon, as based on the research of Dr Costas Karageorghis, head of the world-renowned Music In Sport Research Group at Brunel University, London, who has spent the last 20 years studying and researching the effects of music in sports and exercise.
Bands play live at the event covering many genres including rhythm & blues, rock, pop, and dance.
ASICS have been an official Sponsor of the Run to the Beat since it's inaugural event last year.

GETTING THERE
There are plenty of ways to get to the O2 Arena - it is accessible by car, London Underground, bus, rail and boat!
There is limited parking at The O2, however there is a special pre-booked price of £5 for Run to the Beat competitors from 08.00 - 15.00 in Car Park 1. This is a ticketless system so it is strongly recommended that you pre-book to avoid disappointment, as there is no alternative on-site parking if this car park is full. If you do not pre-book, the full daily rate of £20 will be charged. Please note that there will be road closures for the event, so please check with local authority before travelling and leave plenty of time to arrive for the start of the race.
Southeastern railways run a frequent service to and from Charlton railway station where it is a short trip on either the 468, 472 or the 161 buses to North Greenwich and the O2. The nearest London Underground station to the O2 is North Greenwich on the Jubilee Line (zone 2) which connects to and the is the only tube line to offer connections to the all the others making its an easy way to get to the venue. For more information and timetables, please go to www.tfl.gov.uk.
The O2 also has it's very own high-speed express river boat service from Waterloo Pier. These are pre-booked only on a first-come-first-served basis at £6 per person or £24 for a family ticket (2 adults, up to 3 children). To book or for more information, click here.
