The GEL-DS SKY SPEED 2 is a lightweight trainer for the more efficient runner with a neutral gait and features ASICS’ most advanced upper technologies for an extremely comfortable fit. Foremost among those technologies is an additional Guidance Line technology that decouples the tooling along the line of progression for enhanced gait efficiency, which helps make the most of the Impact Guidance System (IGS) that employs linked componentry that enhances the foot’s natural gait from heel strike to toe-off. The Rearfoot and Forefoot GEL Cushioning System eases the shock experienced during the impact and toe-off phases. Strategically placed stretch Biomorphic Fit material on the upper helps to reduce buckling and the irritation associated with it.

I.G.S. (Impact Guidance System)

The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) is an ASICS design philosophy. It aims to make shoe components from rear to midfoot and forefoot to work together effectively to allow the body to perform in a natural manner. ASICS designers strive to compliment, not correct, how the legs and feet move.

Biomorphic Fit Upper

Solyte Midsole Material

Spongy layer between the sole and upper designed to absorb shock and cushion the foot. Solyte is a lighter material than SpEVA and EVA and features enhanced durability.

Gilled Mesh

Gilled Mesh is a special type of mesh construction that allows air flow into the shoe during running. It creates more effective ventilation, giving more comfort and less heat inside the shoes.

3M Reflectivity

Special reflective material which enhances visibility in poor light. 3m Scotchlite is a registered trademark of the 3M Company.

Space Trusstic System

Plastic bridge under the arch creating a pocket between it and the midsole which improves flexibility and gives the shoe strength and stability.

Guidance Line

Guidance Line places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe. The result is a more adaptive running platform, creating a smoother transition from heel strike to toe-off with each stride. The Guidance Line thus helps runners to maintain a natural, efficient gait, especially over long distances.

DuraSponge

DuraSponge is a blown AHAR compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot. ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber (AHAR) is a tough compound used at the heavy contact area of the outsole.
