Biomorphic Fit Upper
Stretchy material strategically placed on the upper which reduces bunching when the shoe moves reducing the risk of blisters and irritation.
The women’s GEL-NIMBUS 13 features three gender specific technologies designed to increase comfort and reduce injury for neutral and under-pronators. These technologies are the Space Trusstic System that recognises the normal periodic changes in the shape of the woman’s arch and provides for the controlled deformation of the arch into the space within the system, while PLUS3 provides 3mm of additional height on women’s models, which helps relieve tension on the Achilles, and a top layer of injected Solyte cushioning in the forefoot area, that provides a cushioned platform feel, is of a lower density in women’s models for improved cushioning and forefoot comfort.

Additional 3mm of cushioning under the heel on women’s models which increases comfort and relieves tension on the Achilles tendon.
The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) is an ASICS design philosophy. It aims to make shoe components from rear to midfoot and forefoot to work together effectively to allow the body to perform in a natural manner. ASICS designers strive to compliment, not correct, how the legs and feet move.
Gender Specific Forefoot Cushioning refers to the inclusion of specially formulated Solyte material in the forefoot. The material's density is reduced, allowing the female foot to compress it sufficiently and benefit fully from the bounce-back qualities of Solyte. Traditionally, women's running shoes contained cushioning material of the same density as men's. However, as women are usually lighter than men, the female foot would not fully compress the material, resulting in a less than optimal ride. Gender Specific Forefoot Cushioning addresses this issue and provides women with a more comfortable and responsive ride. The cushioning material, located under the ball of the foot and extending across the width of the shoe, also acts as an efficient shock absorber.
Plus3 refers to a 3mm raise of the heel compared to the forefoot. The effect this has is to reduce strain on the Achilles tendon. As women's hormonal levels fluctuate during their monthly cycle, the Achilles tendon becomes lax or stretches, increasing the potential for injury. Plus3 reduces the load and tension on the Achilles tendon and reduces the risk of injuries.
Guidance Line places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe. The result is a more adaptive running platform, creating a smoother transition from heel strike to toe-off with each stride. The Guidance Line thus helps runners to maintain a natural, efficient gait, especially over long distances.
ASICS comes from the Latin phrase “Anima Sana In Corpore Sano”, meaning a “sound mind in a sound body”.
