Hi, I am a keen netball player and play indoor occasionally but mainly outdoors 2 or 3 times a week. I overpronate and wear orthotics. I need a trainer that is good for stability but is very durable. Would you recommend the Netburner Super, Professional 8, Ignite 5 or Tasman 3??

Does the 2160 replace the 2150? I've been using 2150's for a couple of years now and replaced my last pair with 2160's but they are hurting the outside of my feet and making my left knee a bit sore.

I am looking for some advise on which Asics trainer would be best for me. I am 29 and have rheumatoid arthritis (diagnosed 10 years ago but under control with meds) and have discovered a love for running although its not the most advised sport for someone with my condition. I currently have the Asics Gel-Frantic 3 but they now need replaced. I am a uk size 5.5, wide fit but nuteral foot. My budget for running shoes is up to around £80.

I am a 57kg Female at 5 foot 7. I run between 20 - 30 miles per week. I have currently am wearing Duo max Gel 1150 trainers and trail runners. However I have a very predominant bunion that over fills the toe box causing cramping and rubbing. I wear orthotics and have locked my laces. Are there any womens asics that are specifically designed with a larger toe box for bunions that could help me with my problem. Kind regards Louise

Hi Asics Team, Similar to Claire's comment above - I too have a pair of TN654 Asics which no longer seem to be in stock. I desperately need to purchase new shoes. I'm an avid netball and korfball player and run occassionally. The main use would be for indoor and outdoor training. Could you please recommend a shoe which would have maximum stability, cushioning and grip for an athlete with recurring knee injuries? Many thanks!

  • Rob Cooper:

I have been wearing Asics trainers since I started running ten years ago, initially with GT-1100 but then changed to 2110, 2120, 2130 and 2140 and have also had a pair of Gel Empire II. I bought a pair of 2150 three months ago and just cannot get on with them. I always buy a 43.5 but have found the 2150 bigger than previous shoes and have also suffered from blistered arches, as someone else on here has commented. Since having problems with the 2150 I have also tried a pair of Puma Vectana 2 and am currently using a pair of New Balance 1064, however I haven't found either of these to give me the same comfort as either 2140 or Empire II. I am a pretty neutral runner but only recently have had gait analysis when looking for a replacement for the 2150. I am running London in April, so I desperate to find a pair of shoes I can get on with as soon as possible. Please could you advise me of your current equivalent to the Empire II? Also, if you could tell me whether the GT 2160 is closer to the 2140 than the 2150, I'd be very grateful. I struggle with shoes generally, as my left foot is a size smaller than the right, I have high arches and a high instep, a narrow heel but a wide fore foot. Many thanks

Hi, I have recently taken up running and purchased a pair of gt-2150 trainers. I tried these trainers on befor buying them and had no problems, however when i started to run i got really bad pains in my midtarsal/lesser tarsal joint?? (The back of my arch) After wearing them 3 times i have been left with permenantly bad pains in my arches, and feel unable to wear them anymore without cauing permanet damage. I have had a good look at these trainer and feel the problem is caused by the plastic? heel support that raps round the back of the trainer, this comes too far forward and interupts the arch support, therefore when i am running my arch is hitting the bit from the heel and not the support from the insoles causing me pain. I have also noticed Collin van Rooyen had blisters in the same place i am getting the pain and think this may be linked to the same problem caused by a fault in the design. If someone could get back to me as to whether or not all asics trainer are like this or if there is another stile that does not have the same heel support i would be very greatfull Regards Janette

Hi I have a pair of GT 2140's, purchased from my local running shop after a gait analysis and trying various different overpronation shoes. They are getting on a bit now and are to be replaced. Your website says I should go for the GEL 3020. Will this give the same support in the same place as the GT-2160? Thanks,

I had a hip replacement over a year ago and would like to do a 5k run followed by a 10k later in the year, what would be the most suitable running shoe to prevent damage and absorb the shock of running

  • Janet Bebb:

Hi, I've recently bought some new trainers. I've been running for just over 11 years & had Asics many times before without any problem but the latest pair (Gel-Stratus 3) are extremely uncomfortable. They felt fine in the shop & the assistant recommended these as I under pronate. I run approx 15 to 20 miles per week on road. When running I get to about 2 miles into my run & then get pains all down the outsides of my feet from the little toes down the edge almost to the heel. I've tried to loosen the laces to allow room in the trainer for the broadest part of my foot as the support in the trainer seems to hold the foot too tightly. This is not how it feels initially. Only when I have been running for a while..... I'm so disappointed as I can't afford to buy more new trainers as my husband is out of work & I have just been told I am to be made redundant so money's tight. I've read you article and yes this might help if I were in a position to buy another pair but I don't see how this can now help me in my situation with no additional funds to buy more trainers. Is there anything you can do to help? A very sad & not running as much as I'd like to runner :(

I have recently taken up running. I'm a 39 yr old female that is quite tall, 6 foot and wear a man's size 45, weigh 83 kg. My questions are (a) does Asics manufacture ladies sizes 45? (b) I've just purchased a pair of Gel-Stratus 3 but have been told that I should have rather purchased GT-2150...is the Gel-Stratus 3 sufficient for my high, weight and maximum support, as well as for my pronation or should I invest in 2150? Thank you.

  • Collin van Rooyen:

Hi Asics Team In March I bought a pair of 2150s. I have been running in Asics for the last 10 years. From 2090, 2110, 2130, etc. But the 2150 gives me blisters in my Arch. A Month before the Comrades I had to run around looking for another solution. Luckily I found a pair of 2130. I ran the comrades with no blisters, blue toes or any leg injuries. But my 2150s still give me blisters. Any idea why that would be? PS I did buy the 2e model, as always Collin van Rooyen

I'm 196cm tall and weigh about 100kilos I've recently changed over from using the Gel Nimbus trainer to the Evolution as I was advised that this would be a better more suitable trainer for me to run in. I'm presently running about 15-20miles per week. However, I'm not totally comfortable that this is the right trainer for me. I am slightly flat footed. Please could you advise. My present trainer size is Euro 49. regards Martin Leighton.
